Williams was new manager Alan Mathew's first signing, when he joined Drogheda United in February 2009.
Steve Williams was one of the first high-profile players to sign for the fledgling Sporting Fingal club in January 2008, ahead of the 2008 season.
Williams did not renew his contract with the Seasiders at the end of the 2007 season.
Steve Williams signed for Bray Wanderers on February 1st 2007 on a one-season contract.
"Willo" was released by Shelbourne following the League win in the 2006 season, having come to the end of his contract.
Steve was born in Aberystwyth in Wales and represented his country at Under 15, 16, 18 and 21 level. Previously spent 3 years at Coventry City before moving to Cardiff City where he spent 4 years.
He made his Shelbourne debut against Galway United in August 1999.
He played a major part in Shelbourne FC's double success in 1999/2000 by keeping 17 clean sheets in the league. Voted Early & Baldwin Player of the Year 2002 - 2003. Steve also won the SWAI Goalkeeper of the Year Award 2003.
