SSDG 2007 'Player of the Year', Alan Murphy signed up for a further year with the Reds in January 2008.

Murphy joined Shelbourne from Longford Town at the start of the 2007 season.

He had been with ‘The Town’ since joining them from Drogheda United in August 2000. He had spent 4 years at the ‘Drogs’.

Alan was capped at International level by Ian Evans for Ireland U-21.

A cool and intelligent reader of the game, he can also play in midfield.
